| Core Team Members |
Adults are needed to plan the Edge Nights, serve as role models to the
middle school youth, recruit volunteers, advertise the program and events,
and lead group activities such as skits, talks, small group discussions, etc.

| Junior Core Team Members |
Students in grades 9 - 12 are welcome and
encouraged to help with The Edge youth program as role models and leaders. Click

| Retreat Coordinators |
Our plan is to
offer the students an opportunity to get away from everyday life and enjoy
some fun and fellowship in an offsite relaxing location twice per school year.
Adult volunteers are needed to coordinate these retreats. Email Lisa Hunke if you
are interested in volunteering in this capacity. |
| Musicians |
Music is a major part
of young people's lives. At The Edge, we would like to open the world of
contemporary christian music to the students. Music enhances the environment and
encourages the students to participate and feel comfortable. We need volunteers
who would be willing to play instruments or sing to be part of a band that would
play music at Edge nights, retreats and special events. Email Lisa Hunke if you
are interested or need more information about music for The Edge. |
| Videographer |
We need volunteers who
could help video impromptu interviews (man-on-the-street style) with the students
and use the footage to create entertaining and thought-provoking videos to show
at Edge nights and share with parents and other members of the parish. Even though
the students sometimes act shy when someone is videotaping, they LOVE to see
themselves on screen. We would also like to tape some of the Edge Night activities
to use for informational and promotional videos. This is the perfect volunteer
position for someone with creative technical talents. Please let us know if
you are available to help us out in this area by emailing Lisa Hunke. |
| Edge Night Facilitators |
For those adults who want
to be involved but may not want to lead as the Core team does, we need volunteers
to be facilitators. This would involve coming early to the meetings to help set up,
helping clean up after the meetings, preparing food, serving food, crowd control, etc.
Please email us if you are available to volunteer as an Edge Night Facilitator. |
| Financial Supporters |
Of course, financial supporters,
even though they are often silent partners, are among the most needed volunteers, especially for a new program such as ours.
All of these great events we want to offer to the students cost money. Training
for volunteers requires money. St. Mary's parish cannot absorb all the costs. The parents
pay yearly registration fees to help lower the cost of operation. We need to purchase supplies
and equipment for Edge Nights and retreats to truly make The Edge experience one that engages
and excites the students. Because this is a new program at St. Marys Parish, there are initial
start up costs now that we won't have in years to come. Sometimes too, there are students
who want to participate in Edge Nights and retreats that may not be able to afford the
registration fees. We will not turn any student away! Financial supporters will enable
us to acquire the equipment and supplies that we need,
provide additional funds for retreats and special events and help defer the cost of ministry
for those students whose parents may not have funds available. If you are interested in making a donation and becoming a financial
